Privacy Policy
The short version
- To build your avatar and wardrobe, the photos you add are uploaded to our servers on Google Cloud.
- Some wardrobe and outfit photos are analysed by Google's Gemini AI to recognise what they show.
- We don't sell your data and we don't show ads.
- Posts you make public can be seen by anyone. Everything else is yours to see and delete.
- You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time on our deletion page.
Who we are
AtomicWardrobe is developed and operated by Alethex Group Private Ltd, a company registered in India (“we”, “us”). We decide how and why your personal data is processed, which makes us the Data Fiduciary under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your email address or phone number, password (stored by our sign-in provider, never visible to us), display name, username, profile photo and bio. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from them.
- Photos of you: the photos you capture or upload to create your avatar, which show your face and body, and the avatar we generate from them.
- Wardrobe: photos of your clothes and the details you add, such as category, colour, brand, price paid and purchase date.
- Outfits and wear history: outfits you save, the occasion and weather you note, try-on results, and what you mark as worn.
- Community content: posts and their photos, captions, tags and any location you type in, comments (“notes”), reactions, saves, and who you follow.
- Messages: direct messages and images you send to other users.
- AI stylist: the questions you ask the stylist and its replies.
- Feedback and support: messages you send us, with your app version.
- Settings: preferences such as theme, language, units, privacy and notification choices.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data through Google Firebase Analytics, such as app screens visited, device model, operating system, app version, approximate region and an app-instance identifier.
- Crash reports through Google Firebase Crashlytics, such as the error, device state and app version when the app crashes.
We do not access your contacts, calendar or precise location. The app uses your camera and photo library only when you choose to add a photo.
How we use it
- To create and run your account and sign you in securely.
- To build your avatar, digitise your wardrobe, and show you try-ons on your figure.
- To suggest outfits and answer stylist questions using your wardrobe and history.
- To calculate insights such as cost per wear, forgotten pieces and your style profile.
- To run community features: showing posts, notes, follows and messages.
- To keep the service safe, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms.
- To fix crashes, understand which features are used, and improve the app.
- To contact you about your account, requests you make, or important changes.
We process your data on the basis of the consent you give when you create an account and use each feature, and where the law otherwise permits it (for example to comply with a legal obligation). You can withdraw consent at any time; see Your rights.
AI processing
- Avatar and try-on images are generated by AI models that we run on our own servers on Google Cloud. Your avatar photos are sent to those servers for this purpose.
- Wardrobe and outfit recognition: photos of clothes and outfits are sent to Google's Gemini API, which returns details such as type, colour and material. Google processes this data as our service provider.
- AI stylist: your stylist questions, together with the relevant wardrobe and outfit details, are processed by [AI stylist provider] to generate suggestions.
AI results are generated automatically. They are approximations and may be wrong. We don't use AI outputs to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
What others can see
- Public posts, including their photos, captions, tags and your name and profile photo, can be seen by anyone, including people who don't use AtomicWardrobe. Posts set to “followers” are visible to your followers.
- Your profile (display name, username, profile photo and bio) is visible to other signed-in users.
- Your profile photo and generated avatar image are stored at web links that can be opened by anyone who has the link.
- Your wardrobe, avatar photos, outfits, stylist chats and insights are not shown to other users unless you share them in a post.
Where it's stored
Your data is stored and processed on Google Cloud in India (Mumbai), Singapore and the United States. Our service providers may process it in other countries where they operate. We transfer data outside India only as permitted by Indian law, and we rely on our providers' contractual and security commitments to protect it.
How long we keep it

Content that other users have copied or reshared may remain with them after you delete your account.
Security
We use reasonable security safeguards, including encrypted connections, access controls that limit data to its owner, and Google Cloud's infrastructure security. No system is perfectly secure; if a personal data breach affects you, we'll notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and similar laws where you live, you can:
- Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we process it.
- Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data. Most of it you can edit in the app.
- Delete your account and data, using our deletion page or by emailing us.
- Withdraw consent at any time. This won't affect processing that already happened, but some features may stop working.
- Nominate someone to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to.
- Raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer (below), and if you're not satisfied, complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Email contact@alethexgroup.com from the address on your account. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Children
You must be at least 13 years old to use AtomicWardrobe. If you are under 18, you may use the app only with the verifiable consent of a parent or lawful guardian, who agrees to this policy on your behalf.
We do not track, behaviourally monitor or target advertising at users under 18. If we learn that we have collected data from a child without the required consent, we will delete it. Parents can contact us at contact@alethexgroup.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. We'll update the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
